A Card Trick That People Of All Ages Can Perform, Quick Find

It is easy and fun to perform magic card tricks with just a little practice beforehand. Do a little practicing and you will have tricks that will amaze your audience. It is so fun dazzling your friends and card tricks are even easy for children to perform. The name of this trick is the 'Quick Find' it is a well known trick.

Getting ready:

Before you begin your trick you will need to remove four cards from your deck of cards. A standard deck is needed for this trick, which is a deck with 52 cards. Remove the red nines and the red sixes. The six of hearts and six of diamonds and the nine of hearts and nine of diamonds are the removed cards. Put the nine of diamonds on the top of the deck and put the six of hearts right under the deck at the bottom. All of the cards need to be face down. Take the nine of hearts and six of diamonds out.

For the trick to start:

Hold the deck of cards in your left hand and show your audience the nine of hearts and the six of diamonds by laying them face up on the table. The six of diamonds and nine of hearts needs to be put back into the deck, so ask an audience member to do it. Now the deck has those cards back in it.

The grand finale:

{Holding the deck of cards in your left hand {or the right depending on which is more comfortable} , squeeze the top card and the bottom card together and toss the deck into your other hand.~Now with grace hold the deck in which ever hand is the most comfortable to you, put the deck into your other hand while squashing the top and bottom card together.~The deck will be moved from one hand to the other so begin with it in the most comfortable hand for you and with discretion as the deck moves to your other hand squish the top and bottom card together.} This leaves the top card and the bottom card so you can reveal them showing that you have found the cards.

Although these are not the same choice of cards that were chosen by the audience, they never notice that they are looking at a six instead of a nine, it almost always works. The 'Quick Find' trick and it's effectiveness are dependent on how smoothly you perform it.

An alternative version of the 'Quick Find' trick:

The premise of this trick is the same except for one very important detail. Rather than use the similar colored cards from the same deck in this version you will take an identical deck and steal the exact same cards putting them in the deck in your hand. Both cards will be faced down and one of them will be on the top of the deck and the other on the bottom, just like before.

In this version you can use any two cards. Cards you could take are the six of clubs and nine of diamonds. Show these two cards as before but place the six of clubs and the nine of diamonds on the deck you are holding. Again the audience will put the cards into the deck from the table in random order. The cards could be put into the deck while it is spread across the table. The face of the cards cannot be seen. The exact cards that the audience put into the deck will be the ones they get back after you have pressed the cards together and shown them.
