For Fingerstyle Guitarists, The Martin OMC-28E Acoustic Electric

The Martin OMC-28E has an orchestra model body. 1929 was the year this model answered requests for a 14 fret gutiar. The resulting instrument looked pretty much like the flat top acoustics you see produced today. The OM is smaller than the dreadnought and the jumbo guitars. The smaller body size balances out the sound from low register to high. The mids and highs are clearer and the bottom is less boomy.
This  makes the OM a great guitar for instrumentals and soloing.

The success of the Martin OMC-28E (as with all Martin models) is partially due to the superior tonewoods. Solid woods are used as they allow the vibration of the strings to ring clean and unstifled as opposed to laminated woods. Solid Sitka Spruce makes up the top. Luthiers have historically preferred spruce as a top wood for acoustic steel string guitars.
The availability and size of the logs make Sitka Spruce a natural choice for sound boards.

The OMC-28E uses solid East Indian Rosewood for the back and sides. The resonating characteristics of specific tonewoods are the reason they are chosen for musical instruments. Rosewood is does a two fold job by entertaining the ear with the harmonic blend in the sound box as well as being aesthetically pleasing to eyes.

The fingerboard of the Martin OMC-28E is made of solid Black Ebony. A 1 3/4 inch nut sits at the top of the 25 4/10 inch scale. This is something that is appreciated by the fingerstyle guitarist.
The wider nut width allows those wild flaying digits a little extra work space. The lower end of the fret board and therefore the upper scale register is made more accessible by the cut away on the upper bout, hence the C in OMC.

The electronics on the OMC-28E are covered by the Fishman Elipse Aura pickup system.
This is where Martin's time honored method of guitar crafting blends with state of of the art technology. The Elipse Aura captures perfectly the sound made by the guitar.
Assorted acoustic images can be applied to the on board sound system through the USB port. There are controls for pickup-image blend, phase switching, volume, and anti feedback.

The Martin OMC-28E is a limited production, stage ready, fingerstyle friendly guitar that will not disappoint.
