Magic Tricks Done With Cards, This Mind Reading Trick Is Easy Enough For A Child To Do.

This is just one version of a very popular magic card trick known as "forcing a card". It tricks the mind and because it is basic to perform and the effects are so wonderful it is highly admired by magicians. This trick is so simple a child can do it and be very convincing.

Supplies: 

All that is needed is a deck of cards, any kind or size will do.

For starters:

For starters choose a single card and that will be the one you want your audience to choose. You are the one that chose the card despite the fact that they think they have made the decision. Remembering what card you have picked is very important. The hardest thing about this trick is recalling the card you chose. In reality remembering which card is chose earlier is the hardest part of the trick too. Put the card you chose before on the top of the deck.

Begin with this step:

Now gather with some people and ask someone to choose a number from five to ten. It does not matter which number they choose. It could be, eight, five, nine, ten, seven or six. Keep the cards face down. After hearing their choice you reply "Now I need you to count to ten by using these cards. Here, I will show you how." After you tell them this you take the deck of cards and deal them into a pile beginning your count with the number they chose. For example if they chose the number eight then the first card you put on the table face down will be placed there while you proclaimed eight. Then you would lay the next cards down one at a time counting to ten saying, "eight, nine, ten." The card you chose as your ëforced card' is the one that you had placed on the top of the deck and it is now the first card in the pile on the table.

Gather up the cards you have just counted and placed on the table and place them on top of your pile but keep them facing down. Hand the cards to your audience person and ask them to go ahead and count to ten like you just did. They will lay down the cards. Tell them not to let you see it but the tenth card is their card. You are not supposed to see it but they are all free to see what it is.

The Conclusion:

Let them see that you are concentrating very hard on thinking of their card and you will let them know what it is. After a minute of thinking hard you telling them that, "the card isÖ" You chose a ëforced card', this is the same as the chosen card by the audience member and also the one at the top of the deck. If you had chosen the Ace of Diamonds as your forced card then you would say, "I believe you are holding the Ace of Diamonds." Obviously this card is the one they are holding. They will never know you chose the card and convinced them to choose the same one. It will amaze them.
